70 – The Anal Timekeeper

Steve and Remfry are in a state of befuddlement this week … it must be because it’s our last episode of the year where we’ll be reviewing new releases. Under the microscope for the final review show of 2019 are albums by Beck, Lindemann, Cattle Decapitation and Misery Loves Co.

There are also live reviews of PUP, Sick of it All, Ghost and A Celebration of Talk Talk’s Mark Hollis and trade-off features Fall Out Boy and Catch.

27 – Get a Neck You Sad Little Goat

After nearly coming to blows the Riot Act chaps are both up for a ruck again this week as they review the surprise new covers album by Weezer. Which is either a genuinely brilliant piece of marketing, if you believe Remfry, or a cynical, stinking waste of everyone’s time, according to Steve.

There are also reviews on the new albums from Bring Me The Horizon, Ithaca and Spielbergs, a Trade Off between Cult Leader’s A Patient Man and Favez’s From Lausanne, Switzerland and a whole load of live reviews courtesy of Fucked Up, Boss Keloid, Mastodon and Sick Of It All.

14 – Not in Kermit’s Mouth

Steve’s absolutely furious this week because he’s got a cold and is surely just a cough away from certain death. Remfry feels fine (thanks for asking) although he is slightly perturbed by the colour of Steve’s toilet seat. Despite these debilitating circumstances, neither are discouraged from talking about some of the most exciting new music in the alternative sphere, which this week takes the form of reviews of albums by Sick of it All, Toska and Sylvaine.

Remfry headed across to Oxford to see Idles continue to take the country by storm, whilst Steve ventured to London’s Roundhouse to see Pixies play Surfer Rosa and Come On Pilgrim in full and they both had fairly different views of Turnstile’s show at House of Vans. Elsewhere new songs from Slipknot and While She Sleeps are discussed and in place of trade-off this week, Steve and Remfry pick their Top Five albums from Epitaph, the legendary American independent record label setup by Bad Religion’s Brett Gurewitz in 1980.
