40 – Desmond Child’s Ho99o9

This week there’s a plethora of great albums to discuss from the likes of Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, The Wildhearts, The Physics House Band and a collaboration between Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky. Steve also went to see Ho99o9 live, whilst Remfry attended shows by Restorations and Devin Townsend.

This week’s trade off come courtesy of Acid Bath’s ‘When the Kite String Pops’ and Beach Slang’s ‘The Things We Do to Find People Who Feel Like Us’ and there’s a detour into mainstream pop territory as the boys discuss rising star Billie Eilish.

09 – The World According to Jamie Lenman

This week, Steve and Remfry welcome our first ever regular contributor to Riot Act, the one and only Mr. Jamie Lenman. In his first of many contributions to Riot Act, Jamie gives an in-depth account of his love for The Presidents of the United States of America’s underrated third album ‘Freaked Out and Small’.

Elsewhere, Steve and Remfry review new albums from the likes of Black Peaks, The Black Queen, Anaal Nathrakh and Restorations. They also discuss Metallica’s return to Europe’s stadiums next summer and what this means for Download festival, as well as Wolf Alice’s win at the Mercury Music Prize. And this week’s album trade-off is a British bonanza with Remfry assessing London-based alternative electronica three piece Public Service Broadcasting’s ‘Inform-Educate-Entertain’ and Steve sinking his teeth into ‘Got Your Brass’ by Barnsley punk n’ roll bruisers Cavorts.

We also chat about our escapades over the last month. We both went to see Pearl Jam, Remfry went to see Palm Reader and Stephen went to a caravan for a few days with his wife. There’s probably a bit too much chat on that if we’re honest…
