35 – Overpowered By The Twee

This week, Steve and Remfry pay tribute to Scott Walker who passed away on Monday. An innovative and uncompromising artist whose career encompassed everything from 1960s pop to a collaboration with hooded Seattle doom-merchants Sunn O))), Walker was a huge influence on a diverse range of artists including Radiohead, Pulp, Cult of Luna, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Goldfrapp, Opeth and Leonard Cohen.

In much better news, the boys discuss the incredibly exciting announcement that Machine Head will be back with original members Logan Mader and Chris Kontos to play their colossal 1994 debut album Burn My Eyes in full. They also review new albums from UNKLE, Whitechapel, Brutus and The Pirate Ship Quintet and trade-off comes courtesy of Broken Bells and Atari Teenage Riot.

06 – Groovy Grindcore Baby! Oh Yeah! (feat. Andrew O’Neill)

Oh, behave! It’s another episode of Riot Act baby! …ahem. This week Steve and Remfry spend a bit of quality time together discussing the new album from Clutch, Attan and the ‘groovy’ new album from Pig Destroyer. Yes, really. We also dip our toe into the as yet untouched worlds of hip-hop and electronic music to see what part of it fits under the alternative umbrella.

Heavy metal comedian Andrew O’Neill joins us to talk about the most hilarious moments in metal. There is also a load of Austin Powers impressions for literally no reason… Sorry about that!
