45 – Heroin For Christmas

This week on Riot Act, Remfry watched some live music in the form of Alexisonfire at Ally Pally and The St. Pierre Snake Invasion at The Black Heart and Steve watched some “live” music at the Bring Me The Horizon day of All Points East festival who brought with them a veritable bunch of other bands who, for the most part, don’t seem to understand the basic concept of live music.

New albums come courtesy of Jane’s Addiction / Porno For Pyros legend Perry Farrell, Pelican, Motanka and Pleaides and in possibly the oddest trade-off so far, Steve listens to BRITN3Y by BRITNEY and Remfry endures Morbid Angel’s Illud Divinum Insanus.

26 – The Stone Roses at Notting Hill Carnival

This week’s episode of Riot Act comes with a twist! Usually, it’s Steve who is the grumpy one, but this week Remfry is going in on EVERYONE, presumably due to his less than flattering inclusion on the Batman Soundtrack Wikipedia page. He GROANS about Architects’ glorious Wembley triumph! He MOANS about Shaun Ryder and his Black Grape chums sounding too 90s on ‘It’s Great When You’re Straight, Yeah!’ after he was given them on Trade Off! He SLAMS Flint thugs King 810… He likes A.A. Williams and Puppy though. Steve is happy enough to talk about everything, including Remfry’s Trade Off pick ‘We Walk Unbalanced’ by Chronicles Of Adam West. Back to usual next week no doubt.

15 – Someone’s Cried On My Willy (feat. Will Haven & Palm Reader)

Steve’s in a sing-song mood this week, giving his very personal renditions of songs by Will Haven, Die Antwoord and Dream Theater. Remfry, for the most part, sits bemused. Elsewhere there are reviews of the new albums from Architects, The Prodigy and Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers as well as live reviews of Slayer’s final London show, Cancer Bats, Anti-Flag, Palm Reader and Will Haven. Speaking of which, Steve sat down with guitarists Jeff Irwin (Will Haven) and Andy Gillan (Palm Reader) for a six-string love in. Trade off this week comes courtesy of Die Antwoord and Hindsights.

10 – Paint it Black Peaks (feat. Will Gardner & Joe Gosney from Black Peaks)

This week Steve and Remfry are joined by Will and Joe, half of the mighty quartet that make up one of the world’s greatest current bands, Black Peaks. The four of them discuss news of the double departure from Machine Head, the new Architects song, Muse’s announcement that they’re playing Royal Albert Hall and ickle punk pensioner Jonny Rotten’s tiff with also-old-but-not-quite-as-old punks Green Day.

Steve, Remfry, Will and Joe also dish out a variety of opinions on new albums from Behemoth, Coheed and Cambria, High On Fire and A Storm of Light, plus we direct some listeners questions to the boys in Black Peaks.

04 – Calculating Infinity: The ArcTanGent 2018 Review

This week, Stephen and Remfry are putting two + two together as they get all mathematically minded whilst reviewing ArcTanGent 2018… well, Remfry does. Unfortunately, Steve didn’t put his workings in the margins and consequently turned up late and left early. What a plonker!

Elsewhere Remfry goes ballistic after seeing The Fever 333’s debut demonstration in London mere hours before the show was recorded and Steve goes stark raving bonkers over the new album from Mantar, as well as giving us a history lesson in art so offensive, even the Nazis disapproved of it!

The boys also review new albums from Jesus Piece and Leeched and verdicts are given on the latest Album Swap; Entombed’s Same Difference and Oceansize’s Effloresce. Plus comment is given on the new single from Sheffield metalcore abandoners Bring Me The Horizon.
